Our Wholeself Wellness Retreat…
Our retreat is designed to offer you a range of activities that enable you to rest, relax and be connected to the universe in a safe, nurturing space. A chance to unwind and decompress through yogic practice and mindful creativity, supported by healthy, nourishing food and connection to nature.
Sarah, the personification of serenity and kindness, is your yoga guide with extensive experience teaching and practicing yoga and nutrition in health & community settings and a sustained career in nursing. Sarah has followed a vegan lifestyle for 25 years, is a mother of 2, an avid allotment gardener and loves bodyboarding. Sarah will be offering a fantastic array of yogic practices to help you relax, quiet your mind and release your worries and stress. She can’t wait to share her wisdom with you. You can follow Sarah on Instagram; @findyoursadhana
Our yogic offerings will include:
Holistic Hatha Yoga including asana, pranayama, mudra, mantra, meditation and philosophy to harmonise mind, body and sprit.
Face Yoga; to tone, relax and rejuvenate the face and neck using facial massage, lymphatic drainage, acupressure and exercises. A lovely self-care practice that aids in diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, giving skin a glow and boosting collagen, naturally.
Yoga Nidra; deep, transcendental rest at a cellular level, releasing stress and tension, and shifting old patterns and habits that are no longer serving you, in a very gentle way.
Sound Bath; the vibrations and resonance of the instruments shift and awaken that which needs to move, offering healing through the modality of sound. Featuring the goddess bowl, Chinese wind gong, rainstick, voice, sansula, drum and Zafir chimes.
Fire ceremony (weather dependant); a transformational offering to set an intention and release what you no longer need, creating a path for new beginnings.
The other Sara, passionate eco warrior, is your creative guide! Sara is a practising artist with an extensive art & craft teaching portfolio. She now focusses on sharing her love of creativity with adults in community settings. Sara is also a mother of 2, nature & animal lover. She became vegan a few years ago to aid recovery from a significant sports injury. Though continues this path for the environment, wildlife, and prolonged health. The injury prompted a lifestyle change which led her to taking up yoga & weight training. Sara is interested in the healing effects of Earthing/Grounding & Shinrin-Yoku (Forest bathing). Sara’s artistic practice incorporates ideas and influences from Japanese culture and Zen philosophy that she hopes to share with you. You can follow Sara on instagram; @sarabudzikmaking
Our mindful creative activities will include:
Gratitude & Empowerment release activities incorporating meaningful powerful words, designed to help you focus on what matters most, inspired by paper art, origami & the work of Yoko Ono.
Brushwork & mark making inspired by calligraphy, sumi-e painting & action art, utilising movement to leave a trace on a surface, encouraging you to be in the moment allowing space for experimentation & play. To embrace Wabi-Sabi (the beauty of imperfections) and embody Ensō (the state of no mind).
Group work to create a temporary and ephemeral piece of art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy and Richard Long. Utilising nature, encouraging you outdoors to make something transient with found materials.

I’m thrilled to be joining in this celebration of all things ceramic.
You will find my installation ‘Homage to the Sea’ displayed at the wonderful Spode Museum!
I’m delighted to be attending this fantastic event in the Ceramics calendar for the first time this year. I’ll be taking a selection of ceramic creatures and hopefully a few large pieces too!
The Hepworth resides in my artistic home of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. I am beyond thrilled to be showing my work there. It’s an amazing gallery that I visit now and then. I studied Fine Art at Bretton Hall in West Bretton, the home of Yorkshire Sculpture Park. It was quieter and smaller then, a privilege to be there, especially in the dark of night (when I lived on campus) or a foreboding autumnal weekend. You could wander the park and not meet another soul, just the wind, wildlife and sculptures for company. But let’s not discuss the time I fell into a patch of nettles with my friend during an off-track stumble through the undergrowth, slightly under the influence of a good night at the KB! I also return there often and daydream of one day exhibiting my work there…
It’s a curated show and well worth travelling to make a full weekend of it with the Hepworth, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Leeds City Art Gallery all within easy reach. West Yorkshire is immensely rich in arts heritage, you can wander to Wakey Museum or travel further to reach Halifax for the Dean Clough or Holmfirth to the Booth House Gallery which houses the work of acclaimed ceramicist Jim Robison or even the Sculpture Lounge. you are literally spoiled for choice.
I’ll be taking my work to sit in the stunning grounds of Compton Verney this June!
This Year I plan to exhibit 3 large ceramic works in porcelain…
Flotsam, Fleet & Flourish
They collectively represent my response to our depleting ocean life. Intended to evoke a connection to and celebration of our seas and the life they contain but also act as a warning of what is being lost on a daily basis through over fishing and pollution. It is my call for change to protect the wonderful biodiversity of the worlds oceans and waterways. We must do better, we must change our ways.
I can’t wait to take my work to the sunny south east for the first time.

The Beacon Country Park is hosting Artspace Loughborough and other local artists to create a wonderful sculpture trail to be enjoyed by all ages for the duration of the summer in the fabulous Leicestershire countryside.
I will be installing my Cornucopia exhibit for it’s 3rd public showing/incarnation nationally.
Cornucopia has a double meaning - it is one of a few collective nouns used to describe a group of slugs. It also has a historical context meaning; abundance and a plentiful bounty derived from Greek Mythology. My intension is to transform the viewer’s initial abject response of dislike and disgust towards these benign creatures. To reveal their awe and wonder and appreciate the simple beauty of each life that crosses our paths, no matter how small and insignificant. Slugs and snails not only help our gardens by eating decaying leaf litter, adding nutrients to our soil, they are also an important part of the food chain which sustains many other species of wildlife such as birds and hedgehogs. I hope you will start to see and appreciate their graceful presence and protect their place in the world, even your garden.
I’m teaming up with my pottery learners from Rutland Adult Learning Centre for this one! Come along to see what it’s all about and find out how you can start your own pottery journey!
I’m so excited to be taking part in this one.
A new event for 2022! Potfest in the pens is coming south! - well, a bit south.
More details to follow soon - watch this space!
I’ll be back at the Midlands Arts Centre in Edgbaston for one of their monthly arts markets. I’ll be bringing some new stock to this one, including some new jewellery lines.
Can’t wait to take my work to this fantastic event!
Open daily throughout the school summer holidays from 10am to 5pm!
I am thrilled to have been invited to submit work into this wonderful show supporting contemporary British sculpture! I will be doing a site-specific installation of porcelain molluscs and others will be dotted around the grounds, available to purchase!
